Walkers, we are the mid-way point on the Saints Way, a footpath running from Padstow on the north coast to Fowey on the south. We can taxi you to a start point or collect you from the finish.
Food Lover’s, no need to spend all your time cooking Cornwall is full of good places to eat. Most people will know of Rick Stein’s excellent fish restaurants in Padstow, but there are many more including Trewithen in Lostwithiel and many more great pubs with restaurants in Bodmin, Lostwithiel and our own village Lanivet.
Fishermen, our small private lake is stocked with carp, roach and tench. If you prefer sea fishing, boats can take you out from the harbours of Padstow, Mevagissey or Looe.
Beach Lovers, there is easy access to both north and south coast. A two minute drive to the top of Helman Tor in the morning will give you a clear view of both coasts enabling you to decide which coast will enjoy the best weather.
Nature Lovers, the conservation areas of Breny Common and Red Moor are both within a short walking distance. Tor View does enjoy a wealth of bird life. Our bird feeders regularly attract green, chaff and gold finches, blue, great, marsh and coal tits, nuthatches, woodpeckers, jays, magpies and dear Mr Squirrel. Buzzards fly overhead and in May and June the cuckoo frequently rests and calls from the ash tree in the paddock.
Cyclists, the Cornwall Cycle Network passes right outside the gate and we are only 10 mins from the Camel trail, the off road cycle/walking track between Bodmin and Padstow passing through Wadebridge.
Golfers, Lanhydrock and Lostwithiel Golf Clubs are only a short distance away both having very good greens.
Places to visit, Lanhydrock House, Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Camel Valley Vineyard, the picturesque villages of Fowey, Mevagissey, Padstow, Port Isaac, Looe and Polperro are all a short drive away.
Garden lovers, Cornwall is full of beautiful gardens. Our mild almost sub-tropical climate means Spring arrives early. Each of our lets has a copy of Gardens of Cornwall, published each year they give comprehensive details of all the gardens open under the Garden Scheme, some well known and some only open a day or two annually.
Peace and quiet lovers, walk or drive up Helman Tor take a picnic breakfast, lunch or supper, watch the sun come up or go down from the top, enjoy the crystal clear view of the stars at night sitting in the hot-tub or just take pleasure from the peace and quiet of this secret, magical area-perfect for reviving mind, body and spirit.
